Rosewood Hotel Phuket Wedding – Elise & Sidney
Explore Elise & Sidney's destination wedding in Phuket.
There’s something incredibly special about a destination wedding that blends two cultures into one unforgettable celebration — and Elise & Sidney’s elegant wedding at Rosewood Phuket was exactly that.
Traveling from Hong Kong to celebrate with family and friends in Thailand, the couple planned a sophisticated and emotional wedding day filled with tradition, modern elegance, and meaningful moments. From a traditional Chinese tea ceremony in the morning to a luxury western wedding ceremony overlooking the ocean, their celebration perfectly reflected who they are as a couple.
As a professional Phuket wedding photographer and videographer, this was one of those weddings that reminded me why I love documenting destination weddings in Thailand. Every part of the day felt authentic, emotional, and beautifully connected.
A Luxury Destination Wedding in Phuket
For couples planning a destination wedding in Phuket, Rosewood Phuket continues to stand out as one of the island’s most exclusive and refined venues. Located along Emerald Bay with stunning beachfront views, private villas, tropical gardens, and world-class service, it’s easy to see why it has become one of the top choices for luxury weddings in Thailand. Elise & Sidney wanted a wedding experience that combined elegance with intimacy — and Rosewood delivered the perfect setting for both. Their wedding day was a full 10-hour celebration filled with culture, family traditions, emotional moments, and incredible energy from beginning to end.
Morning Chinese Tea Ceremony at Rosewood Phuket
The day began with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, one of the most meaningful parts of many Hong Kong weddings. Surrounded by close family, Elise & Sidney honored their parents and elders through traditional tea serving rituals, symbolic blessings, and heartfelt family interactions. Elise wore a stunning traditional red Chinese dress that immediately brought elegance and cultural richness to the morning. The atmosphere was emotional yet joyful, with laughter, family games, and touching moments happening throughout the villa. As a wedding photographer, I always love documenting tea ceremonies because they capture genuine emotion and family connection in such a natural way. These moments often become some of the most meaningful memories from the entire wedding day.
Portrait Session in Traditional Chinese Attire
Following the tea ceremony, we explored parts of the resort for a portrait session while Elise remained in her traditional dress. The architecture and tropical surroundings of Rosewood Phuket worked beautifully with the bold red tones, creating a timeless and editorial look to the images. One of the things I always aim for during portrait sessions is balance — capturing elegant portraits while still keeping the experience relaxed and natural. Elise & Sidney made this incredibly easy. Their chemistry together felt effortless, and every moment between them felt genuine. The soft tropical light around the resort combined perfectly with the luxury atmosphere of the venue, making this one of my favorite portrait sessions from a Rosewood Hotel Phuket wedding.
Getting Ready for the Western Wedding Ceremony
After the morning traditions, the couple changed into their western wedding attire for the main ceremony.
Elise wore an elegant lace wedding dress that suited the timeless atmosphere of the venue perfectly. The bridal suite at Rosewood Phuket offered beautiful natural light and a calm environment for getting-ready photographs before the ceremony began.
Meanwhile, Sidney prepared with his groomsmen nearby, sharing drinks, laughter, and a few quiet moments before walking down the aisle.
One of the things I always tell couples planning a luxury resort wedding in Phuket is that the day moves quickly — and these quieter moments before the ceremony often become some of the most emotional photographs later on.

Wedding Ceremony on the Lawn at Rosewood Phuket
The western ceremony took place on the lawn overlooking the ocean, surrounded by tropical greenery and sea views.
The weather was beautiful, with soft golden light beginning to fall just as the ceremony started. Family and friends watched as Elise walked down the aisle toward Sidney in one of the most emotional moments of the day.
There’s a reason why Rosewood is considered one of the top Phuket wedding venues — every part of the property feels private, elegant, and perfectly designed for destination weddings.
The ceremony itself was heartfelt and emotional, filled with tears, laughter, and personal vows shared between the couple.
Sunset Portraits Around Rosewood Hotel Phuket
After the ceremony, we explored different areas of the resort for sunset portraits before ending on the beach.
This is one of my favorite times during any wedding day. The light softens, the energy relaxes, and couples finally have a few moments alone together after months of planning.
Rosewood Phuket offers incredible variety for wedding photography — tropical pathways, luxury architecture, beachfront scenery, and soft sunset light all within walking distance.
As the sun lowered, we captured a mix of editorial-style portraits and candid moments by the ocean. The beach portraits in particular perfectly captured the relaxed elegance of their destination wedding in Phuket.

Reception Dinner, Live Music & Thai Fire Show
The evening reception took place on the lawn under the warm tropical night sky.
Guests enjoyed speeches, dinner, drinks, and live entertainment from Eka Soundz, whose performance brought incredible energy to the celebration. The atmosphere throughout the evening felt stylish yet relaxed — exactly what you hope for from a luxury wedding in Thailand.
To end the night, guests were treated to a classic Thai fire show performance on the lawn, creating an unforgettable finale to the celebration.
Moments like these are what make a wedding at Rosewood Hotel Phuket so unique — the combination of luxury, culture, entertainment, and tropical atmosphere all coming together in one unforgettable experience.
