I moved to Phuket in 2009 and I’ve been filming weddings across Thailand since 2011. That’s hundreds of weddings on beaches, in hillside villas, at temples and in hotel ballrooms, and enough sudden rain showers to know what a wedding film has to survive.

Who Films Your Wedding
I’m American-Italian, raised on Cape Cod, and I came to Thailand for Muay Thai. Filming was my way in. I made gym content for Tiger Muay Thai Camp (8 million+ YouTube views), then photographed my first wedding in 2011 with a borrowed camera. I’ve since worked 700+ weddings across Thailand and six other countries.
My base is Phuket, but a big share of my weddings are on Koh Samui and in Krabi, and I regularly travel to Khao Lak, Bangkok, Koh Lanta and further. Couples mostly fly in from Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, the UK and the US. Many have never seen the venue in person, so part of my job is knowing what a place looks like at four in the afternoon, and when the weather turns.
My photography has been named Thailand Wedding Photographer of the Year by LUXlife Magazine in 2019, 2024 and 2025. The same eye runs the films: I watch for light and faces, and leave the staging to others.

How a Thailand Wedding Film Is Built
Every wedding I film becomes two pieces. The first is a highlight film, usually a few minutes long and cut to music, which is the one you’ll share with friends who weren’t there. The second is a longer reference video, with the major formalities edited together and synced professional audio, so your parents can watch the whole vow exchange and the speeches properly.
People ask about cameras first. Pacing, sound and light matter more.
Pacing
A good highlight film breathes. I like a quiet opening, a middle that builds toward the ceremony, and an ending that lets the party loose. I’d rather hold a shot of your partner’s face a few extra seconds than fit in ten more moments.
Sound
Audio is half of what makes a film feel real. Your vows, your dad’s speech, the sea behind the ceremony: all of it lives in the film. On a three-person crew, one person supports sound and lighting, because a beautiful shot with unusable audio can’t be fixed in the edit.
Light
I film with natural light wherever I can and keep the equipment small enough to stay out of the way. Thai midday sun is harsh, so I’ll often suggest moving portraits to late afternoon, when the light softens.
Format and delivery files
Most weddings are filmed in full HD, and a 4K option is available. I like to shoot at 60 frames per second for smooth footage and a few slow-motion moments. Films arrive through a media share link you can download.
What actually happens
How Filming Works on the Day
We arrive a few hours before the ceremony. Getting ready is where a wedding film starts: family and friends, the dress, the rings, the venue being set up. Where weather and venue allow, I add drone shots.
During the ceremony and the reception, the team stays in the background and lets things happen. I don’t stop the ceremony or ask anyone to repeat a moment. The only time I step in is the portrait session, where I may ask for a few simple shots so the highlight film has cutaway footage. It takes a few minutes.

Photo and Video Working as One Team
When photographer and videographer aren’t coordinated, one stands in the other’s frame and the portrait session turns into two competing shoots.
I photograph weddings as well as film them, so both sides plan together. We agree who stands where during the ceremony and share one timeline, so portraits, b-roll and family photographs happen in one calm window. Booking both brings a discount. Practical advice
Planning Your Thailand Wedding With a Film in Mind
From my experience, a few decisions made early save couples the most stress later.
Choose the season carefully
Thailand’s dry, cooler season runs from roughly November to May, and that’s when most couples marry. Other months can work well too, but you’ll want a rain plan.
Pick a venue with the film in mind
Beaches, temples and villas all work, but think about shade, noise and space. A quiet ceremony spot and a good portrait location will look and sound better on film than a crowded terrace. My destination wedding guide goes deeper.
Give your guests notice and book your team early
Many of your guests will travel from overseas, so send save-the-dates about six months ahead. Book your photographer and videographer early too. I limit myself to 25 weddings a year, and I offer promotional rates for bookings made around five months ahead.
Clear process
Booking, Delivery and What to Expect
We begin with a few emails or a video call. Once you decide to go ahead, a small deposit (Wise, Skrill or bank transfer) and a signed contract secure your date. Before the wedding, we have a video call to walk through your day in detail, and I arrive in town the day before. I reply to every email or text within 24 hours.
Wedding films are usually delivered within 3 to 6 months, depending on the time of year. November to May is peak wedding season and I’m travelling often, so editing happens in between. You’ll receive a download link for both the highlight film and the full reference video.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Thailand wedding videography cost?
It depends on coverage hours and crew size. My Koh Samui video packages range from USD 1,600 to 3,000, and Krabi packages start from around USD 1,400 and go to USD 2,500. Phuket is quoted per wedding. Booking photography and video together brings a discount. See the investment page or message me for a quote.
How many videographers will film our wedding?
I offer teams of two or three. I don’t recommend a single videographer for a full wedding, because there are too many moving parts and too much equipment to manage alone. One videographer works for an elopement. A third person adds a camera angle and supports sound and lighting.
How long until we receive our wedding film?
Most films arrive within 3 to 6 months. Timing depends on the season, because November to May is peak wedding season and I’m often travelling. You’ll receive a highlight film and a longer reference video by download link.
Do you film in 4K?
Yes. Most weddings are filmed in full HD, and 4K is an option you can request when booking. I usually shoot at 60 frames per second, which gives smooth footage and lets me include some slow-motion shots in the edit.
Can you do both photography and videography?
Yes. I photograph and film weddings, so both sides plan together on one timeline. Combined bookings are discounted, and stand-alone video is also available.
How far ahead should we book?
As early as you can. I limit myself to 25 weddings per year, and peak-season dates fill first. I offer promotional rates for bookings made about five months ahead. Message me your date and venue and I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m free.
