Imran & Trina are both Muslims, however their families are mixed – Bangladeshi and Peruvian – Trina was born in the Philippines, lived in Brazil, Austria, Boston, and Toronto.  One of her closest friends from my university years in Boston, introduced her to Imran when I moved to Toronto.

 

Imran on the the other hand is an Indian, but his family has been living in Congo for several generations now and he considers himself Congolese.  He’s lived in Congo, Kenya, and Toronto.

 

Because theu have so many mutual friends – Trina met maybe 20 friends in Boston who were people he’s grown up with… but Trina didn’t met Imran until 5 years after she met my friends!  In the mean time, a lot of Trina;s friends’ parents and family adopted her as one of their own.
