Photographs from real weddings
This is a small selection from the 700-plus weddings I have photographed in Thailand since 2011. I work in a documentary style: I stay close, keep the posing light and watch for the moments in between, like the nervous laugh before the aisle or a parent wiping their eyes.
The work below is grouped by place, because the light, the venues and the feel of a wedding change a lot from one coast to the next. Each group links through to a full gallery for that destination. Andaman Sea
Phuket Weddings
Phuket is home. I have been based here since 2009 and it is where I have photographed more weddings than anywhere else. The choice of venues is huge, from beachfront resorts to private villas up in the hills, and on the west coast the sun sets over the Andaman Sea, so we can plan the day around that last hour of good light.
Gulf of Thailand
Koh Samui Weddings
Samui has a more private feel. Most of the weddings I photograph there happen at villas on the hillsides or at small resorts, with plenty of tropical green and, from the best spots, a long view over the Gulf of Thailand. I have been photographing weddings on the island since 2011 and have done more than 100 of them.
Andaman coast
Krabi Weddings
Krabi is all about the limestone. Cliffs rise straight out of the sea, and some of the best beaches, around Railay, can only be reached by boat, which adds a little adventure to the schedule. Rayavadee and Banyan Tree are two of the resorts I have photographed weddings at here.
